Chia Pudding 4 Ways: The 10-Gram-Fiber Breakfast in 5 Minutes
If fibermaxxing had a mascot, it would be the chia seed: 10 grams of fiber in two tablespoons, no cooking required, and it turns into pudding while you sleep. This is the complete guide to chia pudding — the master ratio, the four flavors we make on repeat, and the fixes for the two ways chia pudding goes wrong.

The master ratio (memorize this, wing everything else)
3 tablespoons chia seeds + ¾ cup milk of choice + 1 teaspoon sweetener. Stir, wait 5 minutes, stir again (this second stir is the difference between pudding and a clump graveyard), then refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight. That’s the whole technique. Each base serving: ~12g fiber.
Way 1: Raspberry almond (the flagship)
Base ratio with almond milk, a drop of vanilla, and a cup of raspberries folded in after setting — half mashed into the pudding, half on top. Raspberries add 8g of fiber, bringing the jar to a frankly absurd ~18g — over half your daily target in one breakfast. This is the highest-fiber breakfast on this entire site, and yes, that includes everything in our breakfast collection.
Way 2: Chocolate peanut butter (dessert for breakfast)
Add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon peanut butter to the base before it sets, plus an extra teaspoon of sweetener (cocoa is bitter). Tastes like a peanut butter cup; carries ~14g fiber. Also lives happily in our desserts collection with a few chocolate shavings on top.

Way 3: Mango coconut (vacation in a jar)
Base ratio with coconut milk, layered with diced mango and toasted coconut flakes. ~13g fiber. The one to serve to people who claim they don’t like chia pudding.
Way 4: Apple cinnamon “pie” (warm option)
Base ratio with cinnamon stirred in; top with a diced apple (skin on) sautéed two minutes in butter and cinnamon. Warm topping over cold pudding is the move. ~16g fiber.

What is actually in a jar
All four versions share the same base, so the fiber differences come entirely from the toppings. USDA figures per jar.
| Version | Fiber | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Raspberry almond | 13.8g | Chia 8.3 + raspberries ½ cup 4.0 + almonds 1.5 |
| Apple cinnamon | 10.5g | Chia 8.3 + half an apple with skin 2.2 |
| Chocolate peanut butter | 10.1g | Chia 8.3 + cocoa 1.0 + peanut butter 0.8 |
| Mango coconut | 10.9g | Chia 8.3 + mango 1.0 + coconut 1.6 |
The base alone is 8.3 grams — so every version clears 10g before you have tried, and the raspberry one clears 13. That is a third of a day’s target from a jar you assembled the night before in ninety seconds.
It also means the toppings are a flavour decision rather than a nutrition one. Pick whichever you will actually eat; the chia has already done the work. For a version you drink rather than spoon, the same seeds carry the 25g smoothie.
Troubleshooting
- “It’s clumpy.” You skipped the second stir. The seeds sank and set in a layer. Stir at minute 5, every time.
- “It’s soup.” Your milk-to-chia ratio drifted (oat milk especially runs thin). Add another half-tablespoon of chia and give it 30 minutes.
- “The texture weirds me out.” Valid — blend it. Blended chia pudding is silky like panna cotta, fiber fully intact.
- “I’m bloated.” 12g of fiber in one sitting is a lot if your baseline is low. Start with half-jars and read our ramp-up guide.
Meal-prep math
Four jars, ten minutes, Sunday night = breakfast through Thursday. A 12oz bag of chia (~$6) makes about 15 servings — roughly 40 cents per 12-gram-fiber breakfast. It’s a core move in our 7-day fibermaxxing meal plan for exactly that reason.
For how chia compares with the rest of the jar — flax, sesame, pumpkin, hemp — see the seed ranking. Chia leads it at 34.4 grams per 100g.
